Émigré is an oratorio by Aaron Zigman about Jews who fled Nazi Germany for Shanghai in the 1940s. It had its US premiere by the New York Philharmonic in 2022. The oratorio tells a fictional story but is based on the true history of 20,000-30,000 Jews who found refuge in Shanghai during this time period.
